      Thx Sonya – it was one of those little unexpected objectives that came up out of left field that was more out of fun than anything else with a lot involved in us seeing these prehistoric birds. G

    One sighting would be considered lucky, but two is amazing!! Your account of the Etty Bay sighting was like déjà vu for us, we spotted a Cassowary in what I suspect is almost the same spot when we visited FNQ in 2014. It was very exciting for us all!

      Hi Meagan – Having since posted our short Video on Youtube of or first encounter of the baby Cassowarys, many other vids of Cassowarys in Etty Bay now emerge. It would thus appear to be a common sight in Etty Bay? Glad you guys enjoyed the post nonetheless. G
